Fotona SP Dynamis is an advanced and versatile laser which contains two wavelengths (Erbium 2094nm and long pulse Nd:YAG 1064nm). These can be used in many different combinations but what is unique about the Fotona SP Dynamis is that both these wavelengths can be delivered with a prolonged gentle delivery time which gently heats the skin.
We have found that the Fotona SP Dynamis laser can provide significant reduction in deep lines and wrinkles in the skin, using Piano (TM) mode and Frac3 technologies combined. Piano mode is unique to the Fotona SP Dynamis laser and involves a very slow, gentle delivery time of the 1064nm long pulse Nd:YAG wavelength. This heats the deeper layers of the skin and leaves the top layer undamaged.
Research has shown that if the dermis of the skin is warmed to 42.5OC – 43OC it causes immediate tightening of the collagen. In addition, it also produces signals called “heat shock proteins” which then stimulate more collagen production over the next few weeks. The prolonged gentle heat stimulates collagen production which results in tightening of the skin, reduction of pores and softening of wrinkles. Because the heat is delivered slowly, the surface of the skin is not over-heated and therefore patients can have this done without any visible skin surface recovery time.
The second step of the skin tightening process using the Fotona system is to apply Frac3 settings to the area being treated. This is a unique treatment that improves wrinkles, texture and tone while tightening the skin.
Frac3 is a unique breakthrough treatment because it creates an effective 3D fractional effect that selectively treats skin damage. As the laser beam proceeds towards the subcutaneous layer of the skin, through the epidermis and dermis, it targets the damaged tissues, thereby treating only where required. You will feel a snapping sensation during this phase of the tightening treatment which is very tolerable.
A series of six treatments, two weeks apart may provide excellent results for your skin. Additional home care and the application of medical grade skin care products prescribed by your experienced and knowledgeable technician will enhance the treatments. As well, it is important to note that well-hydrated skin performs more effectively, accepting products and treatments to a greater degree. It may be indicated to improve the hydration levels in the skin prior to starting treatments by improving water intake, receiving hydrating facial treatments and starting the application of products beforehand.
