Melasma & Pigmentation

Melasma and pigmentation disorders cause changes in skin color, regulated by melanocytes that produce melanin. Hyperpigmentation results in darker patches, such as age spots, commonly due to sun exposure, trauma, hormonal changes, and aging. These patches typically appear on the face, shoulders, neck, and hands. Melasma, often affecting adult women, presents as brown or greyish spots and patches, triggered by hormonal imbalances, pregnancy, contraceptive pills, or polycystic ovary syndrome.
