How is UltraClear® different from traditional CO₂ or Er:YAG laser?
Traditional ablative lasers generate energy inside a cavity and deliver it through lenses, a process that introduces heat inefficiencies. UltraClear uses a fluoride glass fibre to deliver 2910 nm energy directly to the skin, with 95% converted to ablation and only 5% remaining as residual heat.
The result: comparable or better resurfacing results with significantly less discomfort, less collateral thermal damage, and a faster recovery period.
Is UltraClear® safe for Malaysian skin tones?
Yes. UltraClear is specifically designed and clinically validated for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including Types III, IV, and V, which encompass most Malaysian patients of Chinese, Malay, and Indian heritage.
Its low thermal spread significantly reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), a primary concern when using ablative lasers on darker skin tones.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your specific concerns. Many patients see meaningful improvement after 1–2 sessions. For deeper acne scarring or more advanced skin correction, a series of 2–4 sessions may be recommended, spaced 4–8 weeks apart.
Your Da Vinci doctor will assess your skin at consultation and advise on the most appropriate treatment plan.
How long until I see results?
Some brightness and texture improvement can appear within the first 1–2 weeks as new skin emerges. However, the deeper benefit, collagen remodelling and scar improvement, develops progressively over 1–3 months post-treatment.
Results continue to mature beyond that window as collagen production matures.
What does the treatment feel like?
Most patients describe a mild warmth or prickling sensation during treatment. Numbing cream is applied beforehand to keep you comfortable. The procedure typically takes 20–45 minutes depending on the area and mode.
Post-treatment, expect warmth and mild redness, similar to a sunburn, this typically settles within 24–48 hours for lighter modes.
Can UltraClear® be combined with other treatments?
Yes, UltraClear® can form part of a broader skin treatment plan. Your doctor may recommend combining it with skinboosters, collagen biostimulators, or pigment treatments over a staggered timeline to address multiple concerns comprehensively.
